From her daughter "Mother did not have a middle name. Her father realized that she would be asked her middle initial all of her life, so he put the initial A. in her name. However, it was only an initial. Mother, herself, in later years used the middle name Ann. It was never a legal name though. Her birth certificate was Beatrice A. Canova. Strange, yes.
