From obituary in Jacksonville Times Union newspaper: Robert Theodore Drake, 76, a longtime resident of Green Cove Springs passed away Saturday March 1, 2003. A native of Newton, West Virginia, Mr. Drake proudly served his country in the U. S. Army, and was a chemist with Union Carbide prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Johns Cathedral and attended Good Samaritan Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife The Rev. Canon Betty Lorraine Drake of Green Cove Springs, two daughters Rebecca Lorraine Chandler and Roberta Lee-Adah Dorsey both of St. Albans, W. Va., two sons Robert Thomas Drake of Green Cove Springs and John Alden Drake of St. Albans, W. Va., 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday March 7, 2003 at St. Johns Catherdral 256 E. Church St. Jacksonville, Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Green Cove Springs. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bohannon-Chapman Funeral Home 501 Spring St. Green Cove Springs, and at the Church on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
