Obituary reads: "Death takes C. M. Brown - Services Set Monday for Mandarin Pioneer. - Charles Moses Brown, 82, died at his home at Mandarin at 11:20 A.M. yesterday following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Brown was a pioneer of that section and the oldest resident of Mandarin. He was born there December 27, 1864, and as dredge inspector for the U.S. Engineers. He was a member of the Catholic church at Loretto and a member of the Holy Name Society. Surviving are one son, Charles M. Brown of Mandarin; five daughters, Mrs. David D. Wendel, Birmingham. Ala; Miss Eleanor Brown of Lakeland, and Misses Adalyn, Mary and Fannie Brown of Mandarin; one brother, Robert E. Brown, New York, and three sisters, Mrs. Bell C. Doran and Mrs. Ernest LeBaron of Jacksonville, and Mrs. P. J. Canova, of Green Cove Springs. The rosary will be recited Sunday night in Hardage and Sona chapel, 517 Park Stree. Funeral services will be held probably Monday morning in the Catholic church at Loretto, and burial will be in the family lot at Mandarin."
